I'm having fun learning Ruby on Rails. But it means I have to learn several things at once:

1. The TextMate editor.


2. The Ruby language.


3. Programming in general.


4. The Rails web application environment.


5. MySQL database development (yes, Christopher, I will learn Postgresql).


6. Touch-typing all those weird keys.

Fortunately, setting up Rails is easy on Macs using Locomotive. Setting up MySQL is also pretty easy. It only took me three or four tries...

Also, TextMate is awesome.

My ultimate goal is to create a website similar to Flickr for knitting patterns. Knittr?

Knittr... good name. Register Quilttr too.

I need to do more Ruby work also. One nice thing about MySQL, if you already know one SQL, the learning curve isn't very steep.
