I'm having fun learning Ruby on Rails. But it means I have to learn several things at once:
Fortunately, setting up Rails is easy on Macs using Locomotive. Setting up MySQL is also pretty easy. It only took me three or four tries...
Also, TextMate is awesome.
My ultimate goal is to create a website similar to Flickr for knitting patterns. Knittr?
- The TextMate editor.
- The Ruby language.
- Programming in general.
- The Rails web application environment.
- MySQL database development (yes, Christopher, I will learn Postgresql).
- Touch-typing all those weird keys.

Date: 2006-10-10 04:20 am (UTC)I had to put Rails away for awhile, but I am starting to get back into it. I have the new beta book (PDF) of the Agile Web Development version 2, should you want it. It's really great, as "best practices" for Rails change so quickly, the first version of Agile is almost entirely deprecated!!
Let me know if I can do you er. um. do something for you.
with all that. and stuff.
yeah.
