Today was my first visit to the Oregon coast. It was great to smell salt sea air again. I've missed that smell.

I got to meet Gary/[livejournal.com profile] watchingitburn's mom and spend the day with her and Gary.

I waded in the Pacific. I would have swum in it if I had brought my bathing suit. I had heard about how cold it is, but I grew up swimming in the ocean in Maine, so I don't think it was too cold for a dip.

The Oregon Coast is just absolutely magical, right up and down its length. I miss the whole Northwest most all the time, but when I've been to the coast, and it's time to go, that's when I miss it the most.

Ooooh, it's those rocks from The Goonies!

Yeah, I know...enough out of me.

The Goonies was filmed in/around Astoria, OR -- which indeed has a similar coastline.

Have you watched that film as an adult? All those young boys searching for the legendary "One-eyed Willie" -- it's a bit obscene.
And arousing.
