Your entry says New Haven. R U a Yalie? If not, what is your opinion of them?

Not a Yalie! I'm 46!

I don't have any fixed opinion of Yalies, except that I'm envious that they're going to an Ivy League school and are headed (mostly) toward a life of privilege.

My brother went to Brown as an adult returning student... graduated at 30-something with a degree in Philosophy.

One more New Haven question

NH is predominantly black, right? What is it like being Caucasian in a mostly black town?

New Haven is pretty segregated. When I lived in New Haven it was in mostly Caucasian neighborhoods. Where I live now, an older suburb of New Haven, I have no immediate neighbors who are black, though the town has a good proportion of black residents.

So what's it like? I don't know... feels pretty normal to me. I grew up in a lily-white suburb. The first black kid in my classroom was in 7th grade. There were approximately 2 black families in a town of 10,000 people. Maybe one or two Asian families.
