Every once in a while I like to peel a potato and eat it raw with salt.

... and me as well. I always persuaded my mom to give me a couple chunks of raw potato as a kid, when she was prepping for making them mashed or (in the summer) her amazing mustard potato salad.

I was hooked on raw carrots, myself. I insisted on having one before bed each and every night until I was at least 8 or 9.

Still a raw carrot fiend here! :)

I love raw carrots. Sometimes with peanut butter (though you have to dry off the carrot first) and sometimes with mustard. Lately with ranch dip. Some days peeled, some days not. With salt.

Only with bologna. We were upper-lower class. :)

I always hated bologna. Still do.

That stuff's for rich folks. Their sh*t might not stink, but their sandwiches do.

:P

If that icon is you, you look like Patrick Stewart, and that makes me very happy.

The icon is indeed me. Patrick Stewart? HaHa, I've never gotten that comparison before!

I think it may just be that picture. I looked at your other icons, and the resemblance is gone.

Therefore, you must forever and ever use the Patrick Stewarty icon.

now that i think about it, it just sounds like a drier, crunchier jicama.

It's a little bitter, too. I like bitter foods: I eat the core of lettuce, and sometimes of cabbage. I adore rutabaga (Swede turnip).

I love broccoli raab. Well, if it's not too bitter.

My grandpa used to sell potatoes to my mom and her siblings that way. "It tastes like an apple" - I don't think any salt was involved, though.

I have an ex-roommate/ex-friend who grew up extraordinarily poor in Idaho, and he still eats raw potato (though covered in a mountain of salt) and claims it tastes like apple.

I like it with skin, too. Depends on the kind. I'm more likely to eat red potatoes with skin on them than bakers.
