I'm so ready for the whole "politically correct/incorrect" phrase to be over.

It has been so stretched and diluted and de-fanged that we don't need it any more.

I just read an LJ comment about a comedian described as "politically incorrect" as if it were a virtue.

What does it mean? They are naughty? They make fun of people we're not supposed to make fun of?

I don't know, it just irritates me now.

Of course I was also saying that when if first started becoming a meme.

I think "politically incorrect" means "someone capable of free thought".

Well, originally the expression was meant as a barb at people who "toed the party line" to a ridiculous degree.
