Question of the Day

You're tall and handsome. How's that working out for you?
(This inspired by a very tall, handsome, well-dressed man I passed on the street today.
(I couldn't ask him the question, rather, I didn't dare, so I'm asking you.)

Date: 2007-01-03 11:05 pm (UTC)Handsome? Maybe, to some I guess. Still getting used to that. Grew up pretty homely.
How's it working out? Well, alright I guess. Being tall certainly has some advantages - reaching things (I can reach the nice fruit and veggies at the back of the bins that other customers haven't been able to man-handle), seeing over people (crowds = no problem), people assume you're capable/confident more often than not, etc. It's not without it's disadvantages though. At concerts or movies, people make noises when they have to sit behind you. Airplanes are a good opportunity to bang your head on something, etc. All in all, I'm glad to be tall, but it's not always a party. As for the handsome part, beauty is in the eye of the beerholder, right? It's nice to get woofed at though. :-)
