Question of the Day

You're tall and handsome. How's that working out for you?

(This inspired by a very tall, handsome, well-dressed man I passed on the street today.

(I couldn't ask him the question, rather, I didn't dare, so I'm asking you.)

It seems to be working rather well, actually.

The real question is: "Wanna go back to my place?"

HA! I was making a bet with myself that you'd be the first commenter, and that you would choose non-anonymous posting.

I'm nothing if not somewhat predictable ;-)

It was synchronicity, as I reloaded my flist, and it was at the top.

Synchronicity, synchrisonity, whatevah!

Definitely tall, but notsomuch the other

Well, I'm sitting at home, broke and alone......so, let's connect these dots.

How would tall and handsome be different, in your case? I mean it seriously, have you thought about how your life would have been different if you were better-looking?

Well, if I were better looking, I could make an honest attempt at whoring myself out -- thus solving both my problems at once.

I could whore myself out to 1,000 fat chicks for $10 apiece......or 10 really fat chicks for $1000.

What???
Fat chicks need love too......'cept they gotta pay.

  • Less neck and shoulder pain from having to look up at my conversation partners.

  • Any spot at the club is a good spot to see the show.

  • No more dangerous ladders to get things from the high shelves.

  • Back ache from having to lean forward to kiss my partners.

  • Will find out how many people think that because I am tall and handsome I must not be attracted to short guys.

... but seriously. Sometimes I imagine what life would be like if I were 6'2" instead of 5'9" and I can't think of any "must-have" benefits.

(Anonymous) 2007-01-03 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Tall? Yes, if 6'4" is tall.

Handsome? Maybe, to some I guess. Still getting used to that. Grew up pretty homely.

How's it working out? Well, alright I guess. Being tall certainly has some advantages - reaching things (I can reach the nice fruit and veggies at the back of the bins that other customers haven't been able to man-handle), seeing over people (crowds = no problem), people assume you're capable/confident more often than not, etc. It's not without it's disadvantages though. At concerts or movies, people make noises when they have to sit behind you. Airplanes are a good opportunity to bang your head on something, etc. All in all, I'm glad to be tall, but it's not always a party. As for the handsome part, beauty is in the eye of the beerholder, right? It's nice to get woofed at though. :-)

I've been called handsome (and I'm not above fishing for a compliment).

I grew up feeling fat and unattractive, so the compliments for my looks are nice!

I look good enough to get by, but I'd rather be tall and plain. 5' 9" isn't tall enough for my satisfaction.

What ya' gonna do?

Not to mention white, male, straight, affluent, pedigreed, and privileged...

Now, I didn't say he was white. But this is Portland, Oregon, so it's a safe bet.

True, you didn't. My bad; even my snarky observations are based on anglocentric assumptions!!
