Marriage-schmarriage

Keep the state out of marriage, and the church out of civil unions. Straight and gay alike get civil unions from the state, and anybody who wants to get married can do that in a church. Marriage, then, has nothing to do with exercising rights except for the right to practice your religion as you see fit. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
