Calling all Portland, OR LJ'ers

I'm looking for friends of friends (of friends?) who live in or near Portland, Oregon. I'll be visiting for 2 weeks in September. I'm considering moving out there in the next year or so.

If you could hook me up, I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

We don't live in Portland, but it's the dream of many a San Franciscan to live there. It's a great little city.

No. Don't leave me.

Table for two?

Think of it this way: in Portland, you'll always have a place to stay, or at least sit.

Well then, call UOregon and tell them to hire me and you can visit me in Eugene.

OK, I will try to lose my gag reflex before I move out there.

Ahem.

Still thinking of swinging up North on that trip?

Vank-hoover

Still dreaming of emigrating to Vancouver, but Portland seems more do-able.

Agreed.
Still hoped you might be passing through!

[livejournal.com profile] ebhotbear literally just moved to Portland yesterday or the day before. Check out his LJ. :-)

Thanks, I Will-

I will feel the heat from here.

[livejournal.com profile] odie_f and his partner Whore George just moved there a week or so ago. It's a wonderful city...they'd be some cool gents for you to meet. I don't know [livejournal.com profile] brianpdx well at all, but he also lives there. And then you'll be closer to San Francisco...Yay!

Thank you

[identity profile] fuzzyjay.livejournal.com 2005-08-03 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I will be-"friend" them.

Camping?

OK but you don't mean backpacking, right? Regular camping I can handle, but not backpacking....

Hmmm, I'm guessing that's true metaphorically and literally :-)

San Diego has better weather and it seems to be a drawing point for New Englanders to move.

Plus I am here....hee, hee.

Your mustache draws me in...

[identity profile] fuzzyjay.livejournal.com 2005-08-03 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
But I hate hot weather... Doesn't it get hot there?

Generally, SD has a nice warm climate (my hometown!). It gets hot for about 1-2 summer months out of the year, but the humidity is generally low, there's nice beaches and swimming pools, and it's very bearable overall. And hey, the eye candy is very nice there.

And even the people who left here are hot as hell, too!

This summer has been not so hot...only a few days, but then the nights are pretty nice to walk around with shorts and a cool breeze. Out in La Jolla where I work seems to be a bit cooler than Normal Heights.

What I'm looking for is 4 seasons, but milder. Not so cold, not so hot. The raininess won't bother me, I don't think. It's not like the NorthEast is so dry, or sunny.

Do you know Troy ([livejournal.com profile] clovisbear)?

Troy who?

[identity profile] fuzzyjay.livejournal.com 2005-08-04 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
No, but I'll "friend" him if you think I should!

Re: Troy who?

[identity profile] beardoc.livejournal.com 2005-08-14 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
I've asked him if he'd be happy to be contacted, and he said that he would. I've noticed that you've friended him - he'd be more than happy to provide advice and stuff on moving there.

Thank you for the referral :-)

[identity profile] iamthequarry.livejournal.com 2005-08-09 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
just added ya on!

I'd be more than happy to show ye about, though day trips would be limited to Thursdays and Fridays, given my work schedule.

Thanks!

I'm adding you back, and hopefully we can meet in September. Thanks again.
