These don't run per-se...they self-seed and any little bit of root will quickly develop a new plant... probably why it's so hard to dig them up... 1 cm of root...new plant.

Daylillies have the same root trick. it's pretty impressive when you think about it...Then again, that talent is inversely proportional to the "coolness" of said daylily variety. The huge chartruse flower with the burgundy throats? Those roots dry up and die if you even think about dividing them.
