I read or heard somewhere that hairiness of the second (medial) phalanges of the fingers was an indication of overall body-hairiness.

I have a few hairs on the medial phalanges of my middle fingers and a bit more on the ring fingers.

I don't have a single hair on the medial phalanges of any of my fingers but no one would call me hairless.
