Home sweet nothing

My mother was born in Caribou, Maine. Way, way, way up north.

The address of the house she grew up in was "Zero Teague Street."

Family legend has it that her mother fought many a battle with the post office to keep that address. I wonder if it still exists.

My grandmother was an alcoholic and died weighing over 400 pounds.

What does it mean that she wanted her address to be Zero?

I was curious and so checked www.usps.gov. When I attempt to do a zipcode search, the address no longer exists.

Too bad. It's a cool addy.

Yeah I looked on Google Maps myself right after writing this. There is even a street view of Teague Street on Google Maps! Who knew Caribou rated a Google van driving around taking pictures.

lol. I was going to look at google maps and then thought "nah...they won't have Caribou up yet."

Clearly I was wrong! :-)
